Design and Engineering Excellence.
Our products lead the way, because of our attention to detail and our understanding of fuel theft. From day one we listened to operators, dealers and senior engineers at OEMs – and then we began designing. We consider fuel security, fuel filling, installation, Customs requirements, transfers in the workshop, the effect of bio-fuels and Health & Safety to develop a balance of design requirements. How does NeckIt! achieve such excellent rates of filling? We listened to the transport sector and their experience of other devices which caused splashback and Health & Safety problems. We trialled over 50 designs to develop a perfect flow – a fine balance high speed flow into the tank, an equal volume of air exiting and yet holes small enough to deter the opportunist fuel thief. TruckProtect’s unique, protected pyramid design was the result. – and it has remained unchanged in over four years. Tests show that approximately 70 percent of delivered fuel passes through the pyramid, while the rest passes through the precisely angled lower flow tubes. This was a major breakthrough in fuel anti-siphon devices (ASDs) technology. What is the breaking point of the NeckIt! basket? Again, we listened to the sector, to both large fleets and to owner operators, involved in a myriad of different transport tasks. The most common fuel theft from vehicles is the small volume, regular theft of perhaps 20 litres to 25 litres at a time. Such “skimmed” amounts are almost impossible to detect using standard fuel management systems. Fuel theft is mainly the preserve of the opportunist thief : professional criminals with tools and specialised equipment are unusual. Punctured tanks are, thankfully, rare. TruckProtect designed NeckIt! in order that it would have the same breaking point as the fuel tank skin. Any more, and the design could result in a professional thief with tools puncturing your tank – and the cost of a new anti-siphon is a lot less than the cost of a new tank. This is just another example of TruckProtect designing alongside its customers. Why does TruckProtect’s NeckIt! use grub/hex screws? We were not the first to market, but, when we, arrived, we soon discovered that other fuel theft prevention devices were possessed of fundamental and fatal flaws. Some were riveted, some were glued. Some had no seals. Some were riveted and glued and had no seals. The transport sector clearly did not want to puncture the tank neck for reasons of tank integrity and avoiding the risk of spillages. The sector did not want glues to be used (either for reasons of needing to clean the tank with de-greasers, being unsure how much glue to use, relying on glue in a corrosive diesel environment, or having unsightly glue on the neck should they remove the device for Customs inspections). TruckProtect was the first in the market to use grub/hex screws. Others have since followed. How does NeckIt! protect the grub/hex screws to prevent repeated removal of the device by thieves? This is where clever thinking counts. TruckProtect has patents pending on its fixing arrangement, a precisely engineered metal ring secured into place to cover the screws. The SecureRing forms an integral part of the device. Its removal demands the use of specialist tools, and, has to be destroyed to be removed; it cannot be replaced, thus making it an excellent tamper indicator. Others have attempted to replicate this design, but have failed to do so effectively. With NeckIt! you have clear and visible peace of mind. With others you have a false sense of security. |

TruckProtect deploys a solutions-driven design approach to all of its products. By involving its customers at every stage of the design process, TruckProtect draws down on the depth of experience of its customer base, with the result that its award-winning product line is a true reflection of industry demand. Our approach, our mission and our dedication to our task remain unaltered: our fundamental product design has not needed to change; what has changed is our ever-increasing range of models, with improved, add-on features and class leading new devices. TruckProtect aims for global leadership; our global customer base keep us on course.
