UK Anti-Siphon Group OF AIDE AUTOMOTIVE, IMEXPART AND TRUCKPROTECT state TISS test result claims are misleading.
Once again the UK Anti-Siphon Group including TruckProtect, Aide Automotive, & Imexpart have criticised press releases from TISS. “The recent TISS report points out that 8mm siphon tubes can pass through their fuel filling holes of their standard device, yet bizarrely, they claim it prevents fuel theft and is the best on the market. This is a huge admission of test failure by TISS and a totally false report conclusion put into the press” states Russell Fowler, CEO, TruckProtect. “Further, they falsely claim uniqueness and special claims for their floating ball device and when near identical devices are available in the market for half the price - and were not even included in their test. The TISS press releases are an appalling distortion which misleads the transport sector”.

NEW REVELATIONS FROM TISS LTD – FURTHER FALSE CLAIMS TISS has stated that their TankSafe Impregnable is both a Fuel Restrictor and Anti-Spill device because a fuel tank can only be filled to the level of the floating ball. This is FALSE. TISS’ own fitting instructions state differently explaining how to fill to the top of the tank. This means it is not a restrictor and it is not an anti-spill device. Shurely shome mishtake! Those TISS Filling Instructions in full; FILLING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Insert dispenser into filler neck and OPEN GENTLY TO FULL PRESSURE and lock-on as normal.
- Once the fuel level rises to reach the TankSafe anti-siphon device, SLOWLY WITHDRAW the dispenser from the antisiphon while still allowing the diesel to continue filling the tank. At this stage the filling will slow down slightly.

MORE TISS TOSS! TRUCKPROTECT CHALLENGES MI TECHNOLOGY ABOUT THE SCIENTIFIC RIGOUR AND INDEPENDENCE OF THEIR TESTING AND CONCLUSIONS. “The statement that tubes could be inserted through the TISS device but tended to curl upwards to stop fuel theft had the sector hosing (no pun intended) themselves” said CEO Russell Fowler.
MORE TISS TOSS! The whole thing comes off so easliy - and replaced again!
The latest TISS Standard device is a huge failure. Firstly, the solid pyramid has caused splashback problems when filling with fuel. This means they’ve had to design a anti-splashback ring.

This can be easily unscrewd to give easy access to the grub screws. The most casual thief can unscrew fixing screws and the whole device in minutes to steal as much fuel as they want.

And then they can replace the device and the screws and the splash ring, so it looks like nothing has been broken. So, lost fuel and a false sense of security for the operator. It all takes moments – and needs no more than a small hex key. |
